The KFWA BY is used for the filtration and separation of fuel oils between the storage tank and the service tank. The system is divided into two parts (pump module/treatment module) to adapt to site conditions. The gear pump sends the fuel to the treatment stage, where it is filtered and separated. The separated water is detected by a probe and automatically discharged.

Applications

The KFWA system is primarily used for separating water from fuel in:

  • medium-to-large vessels;
  • power plants for generating energy from liquid fuels;
  • heating systems;
  • heavy earthmoving machinery.
  • Maximum inlet water content 1,000 ppm.
  • Outlet water concentration 70 ppm.
  • Flow rate 800–8,000 l/h.
  • Maximum ambient temperature 55°C.
  • Maximum fluid temperature 45°C.
  • A wide range of usable operating fluids.
  • Highly efficient water filtration, separation and automatic drainage in a single system.
  • Compact design requires little space.
  • Low operating costs.
  • Low maintenance.
  • The system is inserted between the storage tank and the service tank.
  • The filter’s clogging status is monitored via a differential pressure switch.
  • At a differential pressure of 2.0 bar, the element must be replaced.
  • If replacement is not performed, the bypass valve opens, sending untreated fluid to the engine.
